Our client commissioned Structures Expert E.G. to engineer and replace the load-bearing structure of a water tower. Originally, this structure rested on sonotubes extending over six feet above the ground. Unfortunately, the sonotubes were severely damaged and deteriorated.
To address this challenge, the Structures Expert E.G. team developed a temporary shoring plan and implemented it to enable the start of repair and replacement work on the existing supports. Our team then designed and fabricated a steel structure with corrosion protection. We shortened the sonotubes and removed the damaged sections, leaving only a minimal length protruding above the ground.
Once this step was completed, we applied a protective concrete coating to the remaining sound and exposed sections of the sonotubes. Finally, we installed and secured the new steel structure in place.
This project highlights our ability to tackle complex technical challenges while ensuring the safety and durability of the structures we design and implement. At Structures Expert E.G., we take pride in our engineering expertise and our commitment to excellence in executing projects of this magnitude.
